Sophie and Isabelle turned one and came in for their cake smash session a few weeks ago. It was a cold and drizzly Cape Town morning, but these two brought all the smiles and quickly warmed things up. You just never know what you’re going to get with a cake smash session. Some babies, probably most babies, aren’t at all sure what to make of it all. For many, it is the first time they’ve ever eaten cake and felt icing so its all so new and probably a little overwhelming. But once these two got going they had an absolute blast as you can see from all the smiles and giggles in the photos. My favourites are the images of the two of them together, where cakes were well and truly smashed!

Congratulations on your first birthday, Isabelle and Sophie and a huge congrats to your mom and dad for reaching this huge milestone in the life of twin parents. It just keeps getting better from here on out!

The one thing I absolutely loved about this cake smash was the simplicity of the decor. Isabelle and Sophie’s mom told me what she had in mind and I was so excited to do a session using fresh flowers and keeping things simple with a naked cake and simple cake topper.

I couldn’t have pulled it all together without the help of the lovely vendors I use. So a big thank you to Josie and Tracey from Fabulous Flowers in Claremont for the floral decor and adorable little flower crowns; Nicole from Nicole’s Baked Goods for the cakes, Justine of Noochi Kidswear for the Tutus and Shelley at Lazy Daisy Laser Creations for the cake toppers.
